Churchill Academy

Annual Careers Convention

On Wednesday night we hosted our Annual Careers Convention, with 50 different providers present representing Higher and Further Education, national and local employers and a range of charities. We were pleased to see students of all ages here, from those about to choose their GCSEs to those about to leave Year 13, all asking questions to help shape their future career plans. Our talks from EasyJet and Thatchers proved particularly popular too. Offering all of our students the chance to find out about the wide range of careers and courses that they can progress into is an essential part of our commitment to help inspire our students and help them make the right plans to reach their goals.

If any student would like further support and guidance, our Careers Advisor is available to talk to students every Wednesday.  To book an appointment email careers@churchill-academy.org

The previous day all of Year 8 had taken part in their ‘Careers to Curriculum Day’ to help them consider how different subjects might lead to different career paths in the run up to Option choices. Activities were wide ranging and students were challenged to be a financial trader, a rugby referee, a food scientist, a games tester, an engineer, a psychological profiler, manage international disasters and much, much more.

Thanks to Miss Clements for making both events run so well.
