Churchill Academy

Dream Job Project

Churchill Academy & Sixth Form has been thrilled to work with local businesses Thatcher's Cider and Howard's Motors as part of our new careers initiative, the Dream Job Project. Year 9 students have been exploring their future career paths through this project, where they have discussed and discovered what makes a dream job for them, as well as the skills and qualifications they will need to get there. As part of the project students created presentations about their Dream Job.
The finalists' presentations were judged by Mr Hildrew and representatives from Thatcher's and Howard's. In a close call, Bethan Roberts' superb research into the world of Interior Design won her first place, with Megan Hind and Molly Axtell coming joint second with their presentation about the teaching profession. Peter Skeen came a close third with his project on aerospace engineering. Along with her Amazon Voucher prize, Bethan has also used the prize money to donate to an animal welfare charity. The finalists were presented with their awards by Mr Hildrew and Emma Cox from Thatcher's Cider. Many thanks to all who took part!
