Dulux Dog visits Churchill

Churchill Academy & Sixth Form showcased their new business and computing building to students on Monday, along with a special guest.

Lewis the Dulux dog visited the site to conclude the project with SmarterSpaces, who have supported the school with colour schemes and paint. Students underwent a colour training session where they learnt about the colour wheel, relationships of colours and how using this knowledge can create a colour scheme. They then created their own colour schemes using this knowledge.

Final work to set the classrooms up ready for students is currently underway and the building will be operational before the summer holidays begin.

Chris Hildrew, Headteacher said, “I’m thrilled with the building. It’s modern, spacious and will be a fantastic learning environment for our students. These are the type of facilities that our students deserve.”

Churchill have also secured £3.9million funding for a new science and technology building with building work set to commence in the summer. “This is a really exciting time for Churchill. As we celebrate our diamond jubilee year we’re not only celebrating the past history of Churchill, but looking forward to having the facilities that match our outstanding school, and that are fit for the students of the future.”
