Churchill Academy

European Day of Languages

On Monday we celebrated the European Day of Languages with lots of activities taking place representing several European countries and the multicultural society that we enjoy in Churchill Academy.

The Languages Fete and its activities were all created and run by students in Years 7-13. It was great to see the potential and willingness of our students and we should be very proud of them.  The Fete was a success, with a huge number of students from all year groups joining in to enjoy the activities and, of course, the international cuisine on offer.

Each of kitchens provided food from of different country, with three of the four kitchens selling out.  The Food Tech department also got involved by selling tasty pizza wheels and Chelsea buns, and DJ Mr Smith kept the party going with international music from across Europe.

Language and geographical knowledge was put to the test and there was also a competition for all tutor groups, the winners being:

  • Hanover - HKD
  • Stuart - SASH
  • Tudor - TJJW
  • Windsor - WPH
  • Sixth Form - there was a triple draw! JD, LP and PL

A big thank you to all students involved, we can’t wait for the next one!
