On Your Marks, Get Set, Cook

On Tuesday 8th May, all Yr 8 students took part in a healthy eating activity called 'On Your Marks, Get Set, Cook' , which was run by Chartwells. Two teams of Yr 8 students accompanied by a member of staff per team, competed against each other to produce a healthy meal that could be cooked and presented within 15 minutes. This was an excellent opportunity for students to further develop their knowledge and understanding of nutrients needed in the diet and how to eat healthily. They were also able to develop practical skills in cooking with the pressure of a live audience! Miss Tucker would like to thank all staff and students who took part and supported this activity! #GoTeamRed!!

Chartwells also delivered cooking, nutritional and recipe 'survival guide' session for our Sixth Form students, to aid them in their next steps at University, Further Education or work. An invaluable life skill for all!
