Outstanding Maths Challenge Results

The results for the Junior Maths Challenge are in! Churchill students excelled once again with 39 students receiving certificates, The Gold certificate winners were Stan Hemmings, Peter Skeen, Stan Irving, Tyler Symester, Dan Winterton, Finley Hay, Chris Caddy Hvalkof and Ashleigh Bailey.

Five students qualified for further rounds: Peter Skeen, Stan Irving, Finley Hay and Chris Caddy Hvalkof qualified for the Junior Kangaroo. Stan Hemmings, who managed to solve 22 out of the 25 questions, qualified for the Junior Maths Olympiad.

The results of the extension round of the Intermediate Mathematics challenge have also been received. All nine students qualified for certificates: Tom Mills, Joe Bunce, Lucy Knapman, Emma Griffiths, Samuel Faheem, Catherine Hurcombe, Stan Hemmings, James Dams and Dan Winterton received Kangaroo Certificates.  Stan Hemmings and James Dams did particularly well receiving Merit certificates.

John Skeen qualified for the Olympiad, the highest level of challenge. John received a distinction and did so well he was awarded a medal which is only awarded to the very best Mathematicians in the country. This is the second year that John has accomplished this amazing success.
