Outward Bound
Year 9 students recently faced the great outdoors for a full-on residential week in the Lake District with the Outward Bound Trust. A few days of nice weather made it all the more enjoyable for our daring students who enjoyed hiking up mountains, wild camping and scrambling up a waterfall. Students also participated in team-building games and canoed down beautiful Ullswater Lake. Along with members of the Outward Bound Trust, Miss Bluck and Miss Wratten, the students also benefitted from support and guidance from Yusef, a representative from AkzoNobel, a sponsor of the Trust. The students really enjoyed working with Yusef who shared with them how businesses work, the importance of teamwork to the success of a business and how they can use it to face the challenges set during the week.
This was a fantastic opportunity for these students as it helps to ignite a love of the outdoors, challenges them to learn new skills and builds their confidence. A great time was had by everyone.
