PE Results round-up

Rounders

The Churchill Rounders teams have been busy this week with the Year 8 tournament at Clevedon on Tuesday and fixtures at Priory on Wednesday. We have been lucky with the sun and there was some fantastic demonstrations of fielding and batting across all year groups. Results:

Year 8 tournament:  The girls came fourth in their pool after battling against Clevedon, Priory, Hans Price and Sidcot. This meant that they did not qualify for the semi finals but it was an enjoyable day for all. Congratulations to Ela Kain, Lola Bird, Sophie Manning and Mimi Mendel who all received nominated player from their games.

Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 & Year 10 fixtures versus Priory:  On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon we travelled to Priory for some tightly contested Rounder's matches! The Year 10s fought back from a difficult first innings and narrowly lost scoring 16 rounders to Priory's 19.5. Congratulations to Shannon Webb for receiving nominated player. The Year 9 team worked hard against a strong Priory team but unfortunately lost their game with Alex Wilson's strong bowling earning her nominated player - well done Alex! The Year 8 team bounced back from their tournament on the Tuesday to narrowly lose their first innings but draw their second. Congratulations to Sophie Manning and Katie Smith who received nominated players. The Year 7 team played two different Priory teams and lost their first innings and drew their second. Congratulations to Sophie Vangasse and Caitlin Jarvis who were nominated players for this game.

Well done to all girl's who have represented Churchill this week. Please could students remember that it is important that they bring water and suncream for fixtures when the weather is warm.
