RAF make a Flying Visit
Year 9 Science students enjoyed a one hour jet fuelled talk entitled 'Fun with flight' from the RAF today (10/6/16). Students learned about the use of drones, new technology and the four factors affecting flight, whilst being entertained by the controlled mayhem of Sam, Nathan and 'Bevans' from the RAF. Students were keen to volunteer and answer questions in a talk that included virtual reality goggles and a Jet engine demonstration outside. The RAF are keen to encourage more young people to apply and clearly explained the pathways that students could take. We even had some Year 10s visit to see the jet engines that they had heard from their Geography lesson! Many thanks to the RAF for an informative and entertaining visit.
