Seniors Maths Challenges: updates
Senior Maths Team Challenge
We entered the Regional Final of the Senior Team Maths Challenge on Wednesday evening and won! Churchill's students were up against strong opposition from 15 other schools in the region, including many public schools. The team displayed excellent mathematical skills and team work. The team, comprising Sixth Formers Tian Arlotte, Caelen Daynes, Hanna Whydle and Anuj Gupta now go on to the National Final in London in February. Thanks to Mr Jones, Mr Malkin and Mr Woods for helping with the team training. A fantastic result. Huge congratulations to all.
Senior Maths Challenge
The Senior Maths Challenge results also arrived this week. This is a national competition for able students targeted at Year 12 and 13 students. A record 37 certificates were awarded: five Gold, nine Silver and 23 Bronze with four students qualifying for international rounds. Gold winners were Tian Arlotte, Naomi Mills, Lizzie Lomax, Anuj Gupta and Emma Main. Excellent results were obtained by several younger students - Year 11 students, Emma Main, Reece White, Alex Price, and Isaac Burchill, Emma Griffiths in Year 10 and John Skeen in Year 9 who were also awarded certificates. Congratulations to everyone who participated.
