Sophia Wins National Writing Competition with A Twist on a Tale

This year, Churchill Academy & Sixth Form took part in Pearson’s My Twist on a Tale: Our Tomorrow writing competition. The students worked really hard on their entries and produced some fantastic stories about what they believe the future will hold.

We are delighted to announce that out of over 1,200 entries, Sophia Papasouliotis was selected as the South West category winner and her story has been published in a book for all to read!

The book, My Twist on a Tale: Our Tomorrow contains 17 futuristic winning entries covering topics such as climate change and safety as well as twists on classic tales.

Sophia’s story is told from the perspective of Mother Nature, who gives her body to provide life for many, only for her children to foster a passion for destruction.

Sophia said: “I am so excited to have been selected as the South West winner. I wrote about a subject that means a lot to me and I’m glad this resonated with the judge.”

In addition to her fantastic story being illustrated and published in print, Sofia’s story has been recorded by a professional recording artist too so people can not only read but listen to her story too! You can read/hear it here: go.pearson.com/OurTomorrow

Well done Sophia, we are all super proud of you!
