Students deliver final projects to ITV Newsreader Ian Axton
Year 13 students from Churchill Academy & Sixth Form have presented their final A Level Product Design projects to ITV Newsreader Ian Axton after months of working on ITV themed lights for TV channel.
Leader of Learning for Technology, Mark Barham said “As part of the A Level coursework for Resistant Materials and Graphic Products, students have to work to a full client brief, ensuring their designs meet the specifications set out to them.
“We approached Ian this year as we were keen to work with a local celebrity and we are thrilled that he could support us.”
The Design students were asked to create mood lights for display at the newly refurbished ITV studios in Bristol.
"The students were a delight to work with from start to finish and they came up with some fantastic designs. I was hugely impressed by the quality of their work and the finished products really demonstrated the range of skills they've acquired on the course."
The students have benefited from having interaction with a real client throughout the project, with their feedback shaping the final products presented.
