Year 10 Work Experience
It has been fantastic to visit so many of our Year 10s out in the world of work this week, employer feedback has been extremely positive with words like ‘initiative’, ‘keen’ and ‘interested’ frequently used to describe our students. The placements continue to vary in their range and location each year, in particular this year we have seen a stronger take-up in the creative and engineering areas. I’ve been delighted to visit many of the students this week in placements such as interior design, finance, film production, motor vehicle, fishery management, childcare, farming and various aspects of the leisure industry, to name just a few! Well done Year 10, you have represented yourselves and the Academy very well indeed. This week is undoubtedly a vital experience for our students, gaining confidence, learning about the work place and making some important decisions about ‘what next?’.
We are now searching for partners and sponsors for next year’s work experience programme. If you, or the company you work, for would like to sponsor a student or donate to the programme to help us cover our Health and Safety costs, we would love to hear from you. Email sf@churchill-academy.org to register your interest , please help us continue to provide such a vital experience in building our students’ futures.
Students must remember to complete their work experience diaries and return them to Mrs Hudson in main reception early next week, they will be returned with a certificate in September.
