Year 11 Ball
This year’s Year 11 Ball was a Bollywood Spectacular which set a new standard for the Academy! Despite torrential downpours during the day, the sun shone on the arrivals as the crowds gathered on the coach loop. This year’s Year 11 outdid themselves with their inventiveness as sports cars mingled with tractors, scooters, camper vans and even wheelbarrows as modes of transport! The students looked amazing in their finery, and the traditional procession to the Ball was led by staff Indian drummers, ably conducted by Ms Cooper-White. Once inside, the students showed off the skills they’d been taught by Mrs Lippe and Mrs Rees in the waltz, tango, salsa and Bollywood-inspired dances, before showing what they could do freestyle to the DJ and live band!
Professional photographs were taken in the Sixth Form Centre (click here to see these pictures) and the partygoers made the most of the in-house casino, housed in the almost-unrecognisable decorated gym! Food was provided by generous parents and a wonderful curry was cooked up by Mrs Dawes and served by the teachers.
Year 11 partied well into the night, in a well-deserved celebration of all the efforts they have put into exam season, and the contributions they have made to the Academy over five years. Enjoy the photos below!
