Churchill Academy

Year 7 Rugby

We've a fully inclusive mind-set for the Year 7 Rugby and always have. If you train and you're ready, you play.

The team has 'tuned' in well at training and we have a great mix of players that are currently enjoying the game outside of school and those that have come to the sport for the first time. All players have supported each other and shown a great attitude to training and matches. Their determination and kindness, blended with a ruthless desire to play hard and fair has been a pleasure to witness.

Our first two games have seen us beat a strong Backwell team 25-20, where we rotated a squad of 24 boys that travelled to Backwell and a 30-10 win over Broadoak with similar numbers, last week.

Well-done on a great start - it's nice to win, but nicer to see us adapting and making good choices. Keep it up!

Just a reminder that training is on a Tuesday from 3:20 - 4:20pm and is free and open to boys and girls in Year 7. We meet at the Sports-hall changing rooms - If we have matches then training is postponed for that week.

Next match: Tuesday 31st October (Away to Worle).
