Young Apprentice 2019
Churchill Young Apprentice is an annual event where students try out their business acumen and entrepreneurship. Working in teams, students create companies which purchase, market and sell products as part of the Young Apprentice marketplace. The best overall team is awarded the Whitmore Cup for Enterprise.
This year's event was another huge success, with a wider range of goods on sale than in many previous years - including Japanese sweets, key chains, lucky dip, hair scrunchies, magnetic darts, milkshakes, spin the wheel, raffles, sweets from around the world and lots of delicious homemade cakes.
The winning team was so hard to decide on, with Okashi, Sweets and Santas, The Tuck Shop, All 4 U and Christmas Crackers all having amazing USPs. Okashi were awarded a special prize for best stall, but the all-round best business performers were ‘Sweets and Treats’ (Lola Woods, Jess Heath, Ruby Byers and Pratika Rane), who were awarded the Whitmore Cup for Enterprise for 2019. Well done to everyone!
A huge 'Thank You' to everyone involved – all the Business, Economics and other students who took part, and their parents; the students who came along and purchased some of the goodies on offer; the teachers involved in helping beforehand and on the day; Year 12 and 13 students who gave up their lunchtime to judge and crowd control; and our fabulous site team for setting up and cleaning up afterwards!
