Academy Sports Rundown: 4th July 2025

Over the last fortnight, Team PE have filled every moment with summer sports, from Cricket and Rounders to Commonwealth Games.  Read how they got on below:

U15 Cricket Team shine at the County Ground

Our Under 15 Cricket Team travelled to the County Ground last week to play in the Outfield and enjoy the ground in the sunshine. We started strong, winning our first game but unfortunately couldn’t post enough runs in the final against a very powerful team.  We headed home with the Silver medal and the whole team is already excited to go again next year.

A massive thank you to the local Cricket Clubs who provide the opportunity to our students to play and to Churchill Cricket Club who kindly host all the school games.

Year 7 spend the day at the Commonwealth Inclusion Games

Earlier this week, a select group of Year 7 students headed to St Katherine's School for the Commonwealth Inclusion Games. Our students had the opportunity to try a range of activities such as disc sports, laser shooting, timed sprint trials, indoor rowing and cornhole.

The event gave our students a chance to engage in new and exciting sport activities, learn new skills and get to know students from other schools. It was a fantastic day!
