Academy Sports Rundown: 9th May 2025

This week at the Academy, we saw our students give it their all in an Athletics championship and our U13 Cricket team enjoyed an afternoon in the sun. Read how they got on below: 

Under 13’s Cricket Team take on Clevedon School in the sunshine

Our U13 Cricket team headed out to Churchill Community Centre to face Clevedon School in their latest Cricket match. The boys gave it their all, however, Clevedon clinched the win at the last minute.  

It was a fantastic game to watch and great to see the team's skills improving with every match. 

The Academy’s week in Yate for the English School’s Athletics Championships

This week was the English Schools Athletics Championships, held in Yate.  The Academy’s Junior and Senior teams for both boys and girls competed throughout the week, putting their skills to the test. 

The boys were first up, our Senior team put in an incredible effort to secure third place with 315 points. Our Junior team who came out on top, winning first place with 317 points and moving through to the next round. 

Our girls also put in a respectable effort. The Junior team were up first and scored 243 points, giving them fifth place. The Senior team finished off the week with 260 points, securing fourth place. 

It was a great week of athletics, and we can’t wait to see how the Junior Boys team get on in the next round!
