Churchill students celebrate World Book Day in a creative way
World Book Day isn’t just about celebrating books, but about getting people talking about the stories and characters - which is why the Academy loved being involved in The Toilet Roll Challenge!
Students were tasked with turning the humble cardboard core of a toilet roll into their most beloved character and the response was spectacular!
The students demonstrated incredible creative skills and showcased their exceptional knowledge of the characters and stories. The talent and effort demonstrated by all participants was truly commendable and every participant should feel proud of their accomplishments.
The winners of the categories are:
Best in Show: Ella Weeks with Legolas, Milly Capes with Dobby, Tyler Bass with Captain Underpants and Molly Weall, Claudia Kalev and Molly Clayton with Heartstopper.
Best Joint Entry: Olive Dury and Sophie Cox for their creation of Beauty and the Beast.
Best Tutor Group: HALH for making the Mr Men characters.
Best in Windsor House: Abigail Vince with Anne of Green Gables.
Best in Lancaster House: Faith Price with Lucy Pevensie from Narnia.
Best in Stuart House: Lizzie Pincher with Crowley from Good Omens.
Best in Tudor House: Will Bradford with the BFG.
Best in Hanover House: Lily Harris with Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens.
Each winner received cream eggs and book prizes, ready to enjoy over the Easter break.
