Year 13 Students Complete Gold Expedition in the Lake District

On Friday, seven Year 13 students embarked on their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition in the Lake District. Despite facing wet and windy weather, they showed remarkable determination and completed the first day in great spirits.
The weather began to improve by the end of day two, with the rain finally giving way to sunshine. Throughout the expedition, the students demonstrated impressive resilience, adapting their planned routes to account for the challenging conditions and changes to their campsites.
Along the way, they also enjoyed exploring the local legend of the Tizzie-Whizie, adding a sense of adventure and fun to their journey.
This was an amazing group of students who thoroughly deserve their Gold Award. We are incredibly proud of their teamwork, perseverance, and positive attitude throughout the four-day expedition.
