Year 13s turn up the heat at Uncle Paul's Chilli Farm

Our Year 13 Level 3 Food Science students had an enriching and insightful visit to Uncle Paul's Chilli Farm and roll up their sleeves in Taylors of North Somerset kitchen.

This trip was designed to reinforce their understanding for the UNIT 2 Making Food Safe assessment.

Guided by Delyse Taylor, they journeyed through the comprehensive process of sauce and product creation, from making to labelling. The students also had the opportunity to learn about risk assessments from Delyse herself.

Further enhancing their learning experience, a workshop on labelling was conducted by Jack, an ex-student of our Food and Nutrition Churchill course, who is now affiliated with the charity.

The students were able to sample a diverse range of products, from mild to extremely spicy.

We appreciate the charity, Delyse, and Jack for their invaluable assistance, and for sharing the risk assessments that directly tie into our Unit 2.
