Year 10 Rugby Champions

The Year 10 team made the short journey to Backwell School on Wednesday for the annual North Somerset tournament and returned as worthy winners!

In perfect conditions, the boys got off to a flying start, playing some free flowing rugby in a comfortable victory over Hans Price. Their hunger and determination shone for all to see in game two against Kings of Wessex, where they battled to a 7-7 draw thanks to some heroic defending on their own try-line. Two late tries in a victory against Winterstoke Hundred bolstered their points difference and enabled them to progress to the final against old rivals Backwell.

In a tightly contested game, the team were rewarded for getting the ball wide and moving it through the hands at every opportunity. An early try under the posts set up a 7-0 lead, which they never really looked like relinquishing. Well done to every player for contributing to an impressive team performance. Next up is the Somerset Cup!
