Academy Sports Rundown: 15th November 2024
We had another exciting week in sports here at the Academy. Our new Cross Country Club launched with a great turnout, making selecting a team for the North Somerset Cross Country event a tough decision. Here’s how we got on over the week!
Year 10 win the North Somerset Schools Rugby Tournament
Our Year 10 boys' team won the North Somerset Schools Rugby Tournament on Wednesday. The games were hard-fought and well-played, and we secured wins against Worle Community School, Nailsea School, and Priory School!
Year 9 Double Line Up in Netball
Our Year 9 girls’ team faced Kings of Wessex this week in two well-played matches. The purples team continued their winning streak with a 25-15 victory, and the blues lost 17-6 in a closely matched game. The Player of the Match awards went to Katie and Melissa!
Churchill Charge the North Somerset Cross Country
33 Churchill athletes took part in the first round of the North Somerset cross country. Congrats to those finishing in the Top 16 and qualifying for the next round in January. Notable strong performances from Agnes, Annabelle, Olive D, Olive L, Izaac, Alex and James who all finished in the Top 5 of their groups.
