Mathematical students excel at the Intermediate Maths Challenge.
Earlier this year, over 100 students sat the Intermediate Maths Challenge and eight students from Churchill qualified for follow-on rounds.
We’re incredibly proud of all the students who entered to challenge themselves with their mathematical skills and knowledge. Intermediate Maths Challenge is a national problem-solving competition for Years 9, 10 and 11 and has maths papers designed to stretch higher-attaining students with questions involving more advanced mathematics.
And there were some exceptional achievements attained.
Edward Evans and Erica Heiermann achieved merit awards in the Grey Kangaroo and Maclaurin Olympiad respectively.
Ross Curnow (Year 10) achieved a distinction in the Hamilton Olympiad and has also received a silver medal, meaning he ranks in the Top 50 Year 10 students in the country - an outstanding achievement - well done!
