Rising Star: Ted Lowe takes his rowing achievements to the international stage!

Ted Lowe is a rising star in the rowing world. His latest sporting achievements included competing at the Head of the River Leine 2024 event in Hannover, Germany.

Ted was invited to race at the prestigious event by the renowned Linden rowing club. This marked the first time that junior rowers received an invitation to participate, and it was a real honour for Ted.

During the event, Ted participated in an octuple scull (an eight-person sculling boat) alongside seven under-15 rowers from Hannover. Together they took on a challenging four kilometres race from Deutscher Ruder Club down the River Leine to the finish line.

Ted was also treated to some cultural experiences over the weekend by local members of the rowing club, who offered him rich insights into the history of Hannover. He was shown models depicting the devastation caused by air raids in 1944, when nearly 90% of the city was destroyed in a single night. This personal connection with local history deepened his understanding of the city's cultural and historical significance.

The whole experience not only advanced Ted’s rowing skills but also provided him with a unique cultural immersion.

Well done, Ted, on this incredible experience. We expect a lot more exciting achievements from him to come!
