LSP Students Attend Cross-Trust Event for Oxbridge and Medical Applications

Year 13 students from across the LSP Trust, who are applying to prestigious universities like Oxford and Cambridge, for courses in Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry, participated in a cross-trust event held on Wednesday at Gordano School. 

The event brought together alumni, admissions staff, and current students from Oxbridge and medical-related fields to provide valuable insights and practical advice. Students received guidance on how to craft compelling personal statements, tips to excel in entrance exams, and advice on standing out during the competitive interview process.

Sophie Taylor, a Year 13 student, shared her experience: “The early applicant day at Gordano gave me some amazing advice for my application to Oxford, both in personal statements and interviews. I was able to share my personal statement with others interested in the same course and receive feedback. I also had the chance to meet and speak with students pursuing master’s degrees at Oxford in subjects similar to my own, which was incredibly helpful. Overall, the day was a great help!"

The event has left students feeling more confident and prepared for the challenging application process, thanks to the knowledge and support provided by experts and peers alike.
