Year 12 Biology field trip to Nettlecombe Court
Year 12 biologists enjoyed a 3-day residential field trip at Nettlecombe Court. The students undertook a variety of ecological fieldwork techniques and two major A-Level Biology required practical tasks.
They got to study zonation on the rocky shore, abiotic factors in freshwater environments and grassland ecology. A highlight for many students was setting humane small mammal traps, which allowed them to capture and release animals to study what wildlife was in the area.
It was a fantastic trip that allowed them to learn outside the classroom and leaving a lasting memory.
