Sponsored Walk and Trek Success!

Students successfully completed our annual Sponsored Walk and Trek today, with hundreds of students conquering various distances across the picturesque Mendip Area.
The event saw students from Years 7 through 10 demonstrate impressive endurance and determination, while also undertaking an exciting fundraising challenge for the Academy and our chosen charity.
The day began with Years 7 and 8 embarking on a challenging sponsored walk, showcasing their enthusiasm and teamwork. Meanwhile, their older peers, in Years 9 and 10, pushed their limits even further, completing an ambitious trek of up to 16 km across the stunning Mendip landscape. Participants were met with a mix of undulating terrain and breathtaking views, making for a memorable and rigorous experience.
It was truly inspiring to see the dedication of all our students. They faced the challenge with incredible spirit and we are immensely proud of every single participant.
The annual event, which was highly anticipated after being rained off last year, promotes not only physical activity and an appreciation for the local environment but also serves as a crucial fundraiser.
Families and friends have the opportunity to sponsor students, contributing to vital school projects and initiatives. Although the walk has concluded, families can still support the students' efforts by accessing the sponsorship form here or downloading it from the documents below. The deadline for students to return their forms and sponsorship money is Monday 30th June 2025.
The success of today's Sponsored Walk and Trek highlights the strong community spirit and determination within the Academy, as students, staff, and families came together for a worthwhile cause.
A big thank you to Winscombe RFC for hosting us during a pitstop on the sponsored walk!
