Year 12 Business Students Visit Thatchers Cider

Last Friday, Year 12 Business students enjoyed an educational visit to Thatchers Cider, gaining a valuable insight into the operations of one of the UK's most well-known cider producers.

The tour followed the journey of the apple from the orchard through every stage of the production process. Students also had the opportunity to see the impressive canning factory in action, where the company's new production line is capable of filling an incredible 60,000 cans per hour.

As well as exploring the manufacturing process, students learned about key business concepts including branding, finance and new product development. The visit also highlighted the importance of family values and tradition in shaping the company's identity and long-term success.

The experience provided students with a real-world perspective on many of the topics studied in the classroom and offered a fascinating look at how a successful business operates.
