Academy Sports Rundown: 12th June 2026

This week's rundown is an Athletics special as we celebrate our team's incredible success at this week's competition. 

The North Somerset Athletics Competition was held this week, with our Year 7, 8, 9 & 10 Athletics teams heading to Yate to compete against schools across the county. 

Our teams put forward an astounding effort, with our Year 7 & 8 Boys securing third place and our Year 7 & 10 Girls and Year 9 & 10 Boys all coming in first place in their categories. This is an incredible achievement that highlights our students' skill and effort when it comes to sport and we couldn’t be prouder. 

Whilst we are very proud of all of our students who competed, we want to give a special shout out to those who came first or second in their events. Congratulations to:

Anna: 1st place in 100m, 2nd place in 1500m, 2nd place in Long Jump

Lottie: 2nd place in 200m

Maëlys: 1st place in High Jump

Penny: 1st place in Shot Putt, 2nd place in Discus

Girls Relay Team: 2nd place 

Ben: 1st place in 1500m

Theo: 1st place in Discus

Year 8

Solene: 2nd place in 200m

George: 1st place in 100m, 1st place in Shot Putt

Kacper: 1st place in Discus

Year 9

Annabelle: 2nd place in 1500m

Mati: 1st place in High Jump (joint)

Arlo: 1st place in 100m, 2nd in 300m

Joey: 1st place in 800m

Riley: 2nd place in 1500m
