Churchill Academy & Sixth Form

Team Cricket News 2023

It's been a busy week of cricket fixtures with U12, U13 and U14 already playing, with more games still to come. Churchill will take part in a total of five Semi Finals against tough opponents this week.  A big thank you to local clubs who have supported with their representation across the year groups. A special thanks to Churchill Cricket Club for hosting the Academy Home Matches.

On Monday, the U12s beat Kingswood in an away match, with Matt Kirwin & Luca Beyon both scoring 50's. They go through to the Bristol Schools Cup Final Vs QEH to be played on Tuesday 27th.

Monday, also saw the the U13s play away to Kingswood, but they didn't share the result of the U12s.

Tuesday saw the U12s play in the Semi Final of the Somerset Cup. Unfortunately they went on to lose their match against Taunton School, played at home.

Wednesday saw some big numbers, with the U14s clocking up over 100 runs. It was a very tight game that ended with Bristol Grammar School taking the win.

The U12s were back in action in the Semi Final of the Somerset Schools County Cup against Millfield. Traditional cricket lunch and tea were enjoyed by all, but Churchill didn't progress to the final.

U13’s 107 Churchill - Wellsway 57 all out!

Great end to the week! Determination indeed after a hard week, we learn we are through to a final .. Lords? Maybe?

Congratulations to all teams who have showed commitment and determination during the week. All have represented the Academy brilliantly.
