Churchill hosts the LSP Operational Away Day
On Tuesday 2nd July, we hosted the annual LSP Operational Away Day for School Business and Office Managers, Estates, HR and Finance colleagues.

Several Year 10 students attended a taster day at Weston College to learn about the construction pathways available for Post 16.
Year 12 biologists enjoyed a 3-day residential field trip at Nettlecombe Court. The students undertook a variety of ecological fieldwork techniques and two major A-Level Biology required practical tasks.
From Monday to Friday next week, students will be off timetable and taking part in a range of fun-filled activities.
This year’s Music Festival took place this week during lunchtimes under the Canopy. We were thrilled by a variety of performances including soloists, school ensembles, student bands and even our own staff band. The weather stayed
good for the duration of the festival so that we could all enjoy the sun and superb music.
Congratulations and thank you all those who performed or helped with the technical side of the festival.
Year 10 Drama students found out what it was like to teach for the day when they taught the upcoming Year 6s for a day of Performing Arts.
Thursday evening saw yet another crowd pleasing ‘Strictly Dance Fever’. The talent on show was fantastic, as every performer fought to win and demonstrate their skills to the audience.
On Thursday 20th June, our Year 12 Economics students took a trip to Backwell School for the inaugural LSP Target 2.0 Competition. Students had taken weeks to research, analyse and consider what the Bank of England should do to the base rate in order to maintain inflation at 2%. Using the most up to date information, students created impressive presentations outlining their findings and decisions.
Congratulations to Noah, Ella, Mia, Annalise and Alanna who created a thrilling Murder Mystery play to earn themselves a place in the LSP ‘Year 9 Devising Competition’.
The Athletics Regional Finals were held on Tuesday and our Senior Boys Team travelled to Exeter for the event. The regional finals see the best teams from the South West region compete to qualify for the English Schools’ National final.
Our geography department have an exciting opportunity for our students to take part in the International Young Geographer of the Year competition!
On Wednesday 19th June, 13 plucky Year 8 students pitted their wits against each other in the Year 8 Public Speaking Competition organised by the English Department. Each student was tasked with the opportunity to display their verbal dexterity on a topic of their choice.
