During this first year, students will begin their coursework and all practical work is fully supported by analysis and understanding of the work of other photographers. Students develop their visual awareness and develop an understanding of how to express concepts and feelings through their own photography.

The second year of the course will see students continue to develop their coursework towards a final piece.  Students will also write a Personal Study Essay which will make links to their own work and will broaden their cultural understanding.  Finally students will complete a 15 hour practical exam on an externally set theme.
