Performing Arts*

The course offers students the chance to discover all the aspects that make up Performing Arts. As a Production Company you will be commissioned to develop and run projects in the local community, take part in a large scale musical and develop skill based work in your chosen specialism. This will give you the very best chance of progression into your individual specialist choices or into the industry. You will gain outstanding skills based in Performing Arts with many opportunities for workshops and working with industry professionals providing you with all the skills to either enter the industry direct or for progression on to further specialist training.

Qualification: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate 
Topics and areas covered:

Across the two years you will partake in the following units;

Unit 1 – Investigating Practitioner’s Work This unit allows students to develop analytical skills and contextual understanding of how practitioners communicate themes in their work.

Unit 2 – Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance Students will explore technical performance skills with a focus on developing skills and techniques in at least two performance styles.
Unit 3 – Group Performance Workshop In this unit students will work collaboratively to create a performance in response to a given stimulus.

Unit 27 – Musical Theatre Techniques This unit gives students the opportunity to both produce and perform in a musical. They will explore key features of musical theatre whilst developing specialist skills and techniques.
